Bitch, you went where?

This past weekend I went to Seattle, Washington and went to the famous Biscuit Bitch.

GRITS, BITCH!

They have the most welcoming staff and they call you bitches as if you were long lost BFF’s and I can’t explain how much I love being called “bitch” by a total friendly stranger. You feel just like family. The space is pretty small and unlike what you would expect. After I ordered, the cashier saw my Pikachu phone case and shouted at me “BITCH, YOUR PHONE CASE *insert heart emoji here*”. Needless to say, the whole atmosphere of Biscuit Bitch was an experience itself.

I’ll be honest, although I loved the atmosphere it did take 45 mins for our food to come out and not much food is worth a 45 min wait – however, I did go on a Labor Day weekend where Seattle was swarmed with people. Don’t get me wrong, the food was good, but  if there’s a long line I would suggest coming back later or order one of their drinks and chat with all the people nearby.

If you’re ever in Seattle and have some time to kill, definitely stop by one of their locations and experience yourself some bitchy southern hospitality.

Always hungry,

Delivery has spoiled me

With how easy it is to get food delivered to your door now, I’ve been obsessed with Postmates, UberEATS, Door Dash, etc.

Simply because I am too lazy to go outside – I usually use Postmates once a week. I’ve even postmated myself Chick-fil-a before even though it’s less then 5 mins from my place.

However, using one of the food deliveries can be great while you’re on vacation. Get food delivered in the comfort of your home instead of trapezing outside.

I also like to use Postmates/UberEATS to see what is around my location. It’s a great way to sift through their menus and see what stands out to you. If you don’t know what to eat and Yelp isn’t cutting it, try using one of the food apps! They have the menu and prices for you. Some food places don’t have prices on their menu, so it’s an easy way to see if that restaurant is worth checking out without setting foot inside.

Always hungry,

Amanda

What to do in 120 degree weather?

First of all, don’t go outside. If you’re living in Arizona, you know that this week has been especially hot and there’s been an excessive heat warning issued. It’ll reach a record high of 121 today on June 20, 2017.

As native Arizonians, we’re used to the heat, but that doesn’t mean we are venturing outside during this time.

You know what is SUPER satisfying when it’s this hot outside? ICE CREAM!

Here are some great places to cool off:

  • Creamistry – try the Fruity Pebbles flavor
  • The Screamery (in Tucson)
  • Halo Top ice cream – (found in stores) a I recommend the Cookie Dough!
  • Gelato 64 (Chandler, AZ) – delicious creamy birthday cake
  • Snoh – lots of great variety to choose from
  • Fat Daddy’s

What is your favorite ice cream place?

Always hungry,

Boba Quest ft. Arizona

I am pretty ecstatic to find all these new Boba places popping up in Arizona. I will soon go on a Boba Quest to see which one is the best. I will come back with a verdict soon.

  • Urban Boba
  • Milk Tea 101
  • iSnow

Boba places I have already tried:

  • Tea Swirl
  • Boba Tree
  • Boba Tea Hose
  • Glacier Snow
  • Fat Straw
  • Boba Tea Company
  • Snoh
  • Yes Cafe
  • Boba Bliss
  • The Street Boba Cafe
  • TeaStreet

Boba is a lifestyle. What is your favorite boba place and go to drink order?

Ombré Pink Drink

Starbucks newest pink delight is now available! It was over 100 degrees, so I decided to try it today.

Contrary to the drink’s name, nothing in it is essentially that “pink”. Here’s what’s in it:

  • Cool Lime Starbucks Refreher
  • Coconut Milk
  • Teavana Passion Tango Tea

Taste: it’s very refreshing but it’s not my favorite drink. Sort of tastes like watered down coconut milk with a hint of lime flavor. Bonus points: It’s only 100 calories!

Always hungry,

Amanda

Halal Guys (Tempe, AZ)

halalguysplatter
Who would have thought the infamous NYC originated food cart-turned into restaurant named Halal Guys would end up in hot as hell Arizona?

Even before I visited the Tempe, AZ location, I have heard a lot about them. Their menu is pretty simplistic – choice between chicken, beef gyro, combination or falafel inside a sandwich or served as a platter.

I would recommend trying the combination platter to get a taste of each meat. Each platter also comes with lettuce, rice and some pita bread. Ask for extra white sauce. Trust me, after you get a taste, your mouth will be lusting over it.

Information:
The Halal Guys
1015 S Rural Rd
Tempe, AZ 85281

Parking:
Free parking, but it’s a pretty small lot and can definitely get packed during peak times.

Pricing:
$ – around $8 per platter

Starbucks Unicorn Frappucino

Is it worth it?

This drink has gone viral in the last few hours and I had to try it for myself. I was a little weary because my friend had just ordered it and told me it was DISGUSTING.

Nevertheless, I had a mission to try the Unicorn Frap for myself. I wasn’t feeling too adventurous so I only got a tall size.

What does it taste like? Honestly, it’s hard to explain. It starts off sweet and as you mix the drink it gets more sour. I can taste some mango and milk in it. If you’re not too fond of overly sweet drinks, I wouldn’t recommend it. It doesn’t taste anything like how you’d imagine it to taste. Not fruity and not like cotton candy. Overall, I didn’t think it was the worst drink I’ve ever had but I probably won’t order it again.

Verdict: Get a Tall size if you must try. It’s only for a limited time! Get it if you don’t mind sweet and rather sour taste. It’s not the end of the world if you don’t get it.

Let me know what you think of the drink!

Always hungry,

Amanda
